The audience thought a goal was coming when Luz Tejedor got free with Gustavo Hartz in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cachila's players were relieved. 86 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustavo Hartz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match was over Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than A.A. Cachila throughout the match.
