Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Joel Gaona started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 4th minute of play forced Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Marcelo Gröhe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Sport Club Mavericks's goalie and right to Facundo Cadaval. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Sport Club Mavericks's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Marcelo Gröhe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lautaro Mancebo went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Marcelo Gröhe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 10th minute of play. Marcelo Gröhe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Dante Lacasa managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Sport Club Mavericks's Dre Schipmans fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The throw-in from Alfredão Paiva in the 16th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Mexico's Leonardo Leoz. After a defensive mix-up in Sport Club Mavericks's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Gröhe came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Gröhe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zézinho Lopez in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Facundo Cadaval received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Marcelo Gröhe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 35 played minutes Sport Club Mavericks got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Pinho. Marcelo Gröhe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Marcelo Gröhe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sport Club Mavericks's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. In the 40th minute, Leonardo Leoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sport Club Mavericks's Fernando Lucas quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonardo Leoz, made in the 44th minute of the game. After 45 played minutes Sport Club Mavericks got a freekick which was hit by Marcos Almeida. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Marcelo Gröhe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zézinho Lopez to make the kick off. Sport Club Mavericks's Marcelo Gröhe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Sport Club Mavericks from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zézinho Lopez's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Sport Club Mavericks's Bater Noppe was substituted for Conrado Sanches. Sport Club Mavericks's Zhuo Yin Hong was substituted for Dre Schipmans. In the 67th minute, Sílvio Luiz de Godoi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sport Club Mavericks fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. With a little luck, Sport Club Mavericks's Marcelo Gröhe got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Gröhe having to interfere. Zhuo Yin Hong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Zézinho Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sport Club Mavericks's supporters rose to their feet, but Zézinho Lopez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Sport Club Mavericks getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Fernando Lucas hit a great ball. In the 85th minute of the match, Joel Gaona got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcelo Gröhe was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 87 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Marcelo Gröhe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhuo Yin Hong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Almeida hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute Zézinho Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 97 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Luca Rouco. Sílvio Luiz de Godoi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 98th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dante Lacasa. Mexico's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 99th minute Sport Club Mavericks were awarded a corner. Sílvio Luiz de Godoi went to the cornerflag to take it. Mexico were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
