The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hans Ruchiyat during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Thomas Wirahadikusumah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Palestine Free Land's Gerard Paine was substituted for Idrus Tabusala. When Felix Montenegro fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Felix Montenegro a yellow card for diving instead.
