Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th minute of the match Grêmio Papão de WC got a corner. Mexico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edson Faria ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Selman Pektaşi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dante Lacasa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Andréas Linquist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the match, Grêmio Papão de WC's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Andréas Linquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Luca Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andréas Linquist was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The corner led Grêmio Papão de WC's Luiz Paulo Marquez to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Lacasa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 93 minutes into the game, Grêmio Papão de WC's José Leme nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. When the final whistle sounded Mexico left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Grêmio Papão de WC.
