Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rodolfo Egoi took the kick off in the first half of the match. Rodolfo Egoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvaro Urre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Rosario Central booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of play forced Rosario Central's goalkeeper Alvaro Urre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Rosario Central's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Alvaro Urre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Alvaro Urre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 17th minute, Agustín Saelices ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alvaro Urre was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Amílcar Pinto kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 21st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Placido Gartzea. Alvaro Urre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute of play. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rosario Central's goalie prevented a goal. Rosario Central's Alvaro Urre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 32nd minute of play. Daniel Zorita scored 0-2 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alvaro Urre, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Alvaro Urre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rosario Central's Alvaro Urre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 43rd minute of play. The Rosario Central players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

The audience was convinced that Placido Gartzea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Egoi in the 55th minute of play. Alvaro Urre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 56th minute of the match. After 59 played minutes Rosario Central got a freekick which was hit by Segundo Ucieda. After a rather tough play, Rosario Central's Hans Falck got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After 64 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alvaro Urre came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. With his leg Alvaro Urre managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 74th minute Placido Gartzea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amílcar Pinto charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amílcar Pinto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 76th minute, Amílcar Pinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 77 minutes into the game Daniel Zorita kicked a great long shot which passed Alvaro Urre straight ahead into the goal, Result 0-3. One couldn't see Daniel Zorita behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hans Falck during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 79th minute, Hans Falck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Urre having to interfere. Alvaro Urre made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 83rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Rosario Central's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Agustín Saelices recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alvaro Urre. Alvaro Urre dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
