Wágner Mota was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wágner Mota. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Wágner Mota didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After 27 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wágner Mota was left in no man's land by his defense there! Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wágner Mota having to make a save. In the 34th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Wágner Mota was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to O MOTIVO ⚽ getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Dieguinho Pimenta hit a great ball. 43 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wágner Mota narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when O MOTIVO ⚽'s Christian Braga fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Wágner Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when O MOTIVO ⚽ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Linhares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wágner Mota was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Daniel Zorita. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Wágner Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardo de Salles charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernardo de Salles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bernardo de Salles hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wágner Mota was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. In the 80th minute, Dieguinho Pimenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute, Ecuador's Luis Andino dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-9. With his leg Wágner Mota managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wágner Mota breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 90th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. Wágner Mota came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-10.
