Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Dario Rito sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of play forced Scarface's goalkeeper Felice Fiore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Scarface's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Felice Fiore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita, in the 23rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The crowd rose to their feet as Scarface's Dario Rito slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 1-0 after 26 minutes of play. Julio Vera was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dario Rito showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 28 minute of play. Dario Rito struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scarface. Felice Fiore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felice Fiore saved Scarface from getting behind. 41 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Fidel Lastur came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felice Fiore having to interfere. Scarface's Fidel Lastur managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Primitivo Andino in the 61 minute of the game. Dario Rito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Rito in the 69th minute of play. After 71 played minutes Scarface got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Escobar. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Scarface's goalkeeper Felice Fiore, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Felice Fiore was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 80 minute of play. Scarface's Felice Fiore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 89th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Scarface was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabián Marcos didn't get a good kick on the ball.
