A collision led to Club Puerto Quito getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Enzo Gallardo hit a great ball. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Rufino Giron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the game, Armando Larrieta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Armando Larrieta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 31 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ayoví Costoya. The crowd rose to their feet as Moreta Besosa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 3-0 in the 39 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mauricio Precioso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Ayoví Costoya came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Club Puerto Quito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ayoví Costoya couldn't finish the play. In the 63rd minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rufino Giron in the 68th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mauricio Precioso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 71st minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Rufino Giron got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Club Puerto Quito made a substitution. Urki Espino replaced Ayoví Costoya. In the 83rd minute, Joakim Norberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 84 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Moreta Besosa came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 92 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Club Puerto Quito walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
