Pablo Mei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, Plaza Jewell's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Pablo Mei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd match minute, Plaza Jewell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Cresconio to maneuver through the defense. Pablo Mei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of play forced Plaza Jewell's goalkeeper Pablo Mei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Freddy Amato was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Plaza Jewell's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Pablo Mei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Plaza Jewell's Salvador Roland got a free kick in the 54th minute. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 58th minute, but Pablo Mei got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Plaza Jewell hanging dry this time. In the 63rd minute, Lorenzo Mancio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After 67 minutes of play, Plaza Jewell's Fabio Cresconio made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Plaza Jewell made a substitution. Aristides Iratxo replaced Fabio Cresconio. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Pablo Mei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aristides Iratxo went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When the referee blew the final whistle, Plaza Jewell could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
