Eleuterio Maureo came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 10 minutes into the match, River de Ramos Mejía's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Eleuterio Maureo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Weets succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 12th playminute. 15 minutes into the match, River de Ramos Mejía's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Eleuterio Maureo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Mexico's Macos Graciani to fire away a dangerous shot which Eleuterio Maureo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in River de Ramos Mejía's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eleuterio Maureo came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 22nd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Zorita to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the match, River de Ramos Mejía's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Eleuterio Maureo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alejo Maties received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Grabiel came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eleuterio Maureo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 44 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. Lautaro Mancebo took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eleuterio Maureo. Eleuterio Maureo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Christian Weets hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Eleuterio Maureo in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eleuterio Maureo came out and tried to block the shot, but Lautaro Mancebo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 59th minute. Joel Gaona kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel-Omar Batistuta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Mancebo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Lautaro Mancebo could shoot a difficult shot in the 75th minute, which Eleuterio Maureo however easily saved by the left post. In the 76th minute, Lautaro Mancebo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eleuterio Maureo. The goal made the score 1-5. After a rather tough play, River de Ramos Mejía's Celestino Eli got a free kick in the 79th minute. River de Ramos Mejía's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Alberto Tafalla scored to the left of an out of position Eleuterio Maureo, making the score, 1-6. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Eleuterio Maureo in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Grabiel in the 84th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel-Omar Batistuta in the 89th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christian Weets in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. 93 minutes into the game, Alejo Maties was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River de Ramos Mejía's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. In the 93rd match minute, River de Ramos Mejía was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejo Maties to maneuver through the defense. Eleuterio Maureo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. After a rather tough play, River de Ramos Mejía's Mădălin Holban got a free kick in the 95th minute. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Eleuterio Maureo threw himself towards the right post 97 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
