In the 12th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Fe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ernesto Fe in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 18 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivo Oja. Ernesto Fe came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute, Jonas Olivar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when Ecuador's Felix Montenegro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ubaldo Gonzales in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ernesto Fe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ernesto Fe didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivo Oja in the 64th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Ernesto Fe made a huge save. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ubaldo Gonzales in the 68th minute of play. Cavallino Rampante II's Haroldo Caradaro was substituted for Ivo Oja. In the 74th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Cavallino Rampante II's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Luis Andino managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Ernesto Fe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Fe having to interfere. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Caradaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. With his leg Ernesto Fe managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 92 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Cavallino Rampante II's Haroldo Caradaro got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Caradaro in the 94th minute of play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Ernesto Fe made a huge save. Ecuador played a much better game than Cavallino Rampante II and deserved their victory. The Cavallino Rampante II players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
