In the 48th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Piara Tittarelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mexico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Reconquistense FC the free kick. After 51 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. Piara Tittarelli made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Baltasar Beltza hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Zbyszko Dejo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Reconquistense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zbyszko Dejo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Piara Tittarelli managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 92 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo lined in a short shot 2-3 behind a frustrated Piara Tittarelli. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Prospero Ledesma kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. In the 97th match minute, Reconquistense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baltasar Beltza to maneuver through the defense. 98 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mexico had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
