Sporting Clube Patrício's Ademar Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 3rd minute of play. Ademar Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Zarco Lameiras kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Sporting Clube Patrício booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teodoro Onofre kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th match minute, Sporting Clube Patrício was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zarco Lameiras to maneuver through the defense. Sporting Clube Patrício's Ademar Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 31st minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 33 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zarco Lameiras in the 36th minute. Ademar Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 39th minute of the match. After 43 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sporting Clube Patrício! The referee gave Ecuador a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Daniel Zorita, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sporting Clube Patrício's Ademar Azevedo. 2-3. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 53rd minute of play forced Sporting Clube Patrício's goalkeeper Ademar Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ademar Azevedo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 59th minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sporting Clube Patrício made a substitution. Matei Gafița replaced Olaf Brataniec. With a little luck, Sporting Clube Patrício's Ademar Azevedo got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ademar Azevedo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-4 in the 75 minute of play. Julio Vera had in the 80thth minute some difficulties stopping Manuel Lages's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ademar Azevedo came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 84th minute. In the 86th match minute, Sporting Clube Patrício was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Assis to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Ademar Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nélson Portugal charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nélson Portugal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube Patrício's Nélson Portugal got a free kick in the 95th minute. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play.
