Severo Labora came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcos Cotilla could save by the left post. When Martinez Cardenas fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Made in Paraguay's protests and gave Martinez Cardenas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute, Martinez Cardenas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Modesto Farto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 30th minute of play. Abraham Alguacil took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Modesto Farto. Modesto Farto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 35 minutes into the match, Made in Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Sarmiento came free, but Modesto Farto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Panama booed when Made in Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martxelin Beilzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 41 minutes into the game, Jacob Sagasti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Made in Paraguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panama the free kick. A collision led to Made in Paraguay getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Mendialdura in the 64th minute of play. In the 67th minute of the match Panama got a corner. Made in Paraguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abraham Alguacil ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 68th match minute, Made in Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severo Labora to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the match, Panama's Abraham Alguacil broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Marcos Cotilla had in the 71stth minute some difficulties stopping Martinez Cardenas's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Made in Paraguay's Nahia Gago got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Miralles in the 82nd minute of play forced Made in Paraguay's goalkeeper Modesto Farto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
