The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Eudoxio Queipo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Geronimo Isadore in the 3 minute of the game. 5 minutes into the match, Nicolao Nogal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ambrosio Quilino. Marlin FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicolao Nogal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 8 minutes into the game, Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Nicolao Nogal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ambrosio Quilino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The supporters of Marlin FC booed when Imperio Catatumbo de Lara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Batista Diana didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Agustin Orlandus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ambrosio Quilino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolao Nogal in the 14th minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Marlin FC's Aristides Ieltxu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. After 26 played minutes Imperio Catatumbo de Lara got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano De La Iglesia. A hard shot 27 in the game by Aristides Ieltxu from a close distance when the talented Marta Poom managed to make a qualified save. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's players were relieved. When Marlin FC's Ignacio Derwin in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's goalie prevented a goal. In the 30th minute Marlin FC were awarded a corner. Arnaldo Darien went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Marlin FC's Arnaldo Darien to fire away a dangerous shot which Marta Poom despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Batista Diana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ambrosio Quilino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Batista Diana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ambrosio Quilino came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Batista Diana. But to his dismay, Batista Diana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolao Nogal in the 39th minute of play forced Marlin FC's goalkeeper Ambrosio Quilino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicolao Nogal might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ambrosio Quilino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolao Nogal ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ignacio Derwin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Nicolao Nogal got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Batista Diana in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ambrosio Quilino, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With an all-out effort, Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Ambrosio Quilino threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nicolao Nogal, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 60 minutes into the match, Marlin FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolao Nogal came free, but Ambrosio Quilino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marta Poom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignacio Derwin, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute Ignacio Derwin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marta Poom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 64 minutes Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Arnaldo Darien who took care of the corner kick. Agustin Orlandus was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Agustin Orlandus kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Ádám Dobos was substituted for Cristiano De La Iglesia. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Angelino Lore was substituted for Fermín Gay. A collision led to Marlin FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Agustin Orlandus hit a great ball. Ádám Dobos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Ambrosio Quilino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ambrosio Quilino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolao Nogal in the 77th minute of play. Marta Poom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignacio Derwin, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute Ádám Dobos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ambrosio Quilino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
