Apolo Larrañaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simão Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Jenipapo SC defense, Tanio Lezaeta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donato Nascimento. The Jenipapo SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donato Nascimento should have stopped the shot. In the 20th minute of the match Jenipapo SC got a corner. Talcampeón FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luisão Silveira ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luisão Silveira made a great header on Jenipapo SC's corner, it was just that Talcampeón FC's Apolo Larrañaga managed to reach the ball for a save. Donato Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardino Payten, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After 27 played minutes Talcampeón FC got a freekick which was hit by Nestor Barria. In the 28th minute, Simão Travassos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Simão Travassos in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Apolo Larrañaga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lauro Bertassi kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Bernardino Payten hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 41st match minute, Talcampeón FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardino Payten to maneuver through the defense. Pierre Fevre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Donato Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simão Travassos to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Talcampeón FC's Tanio Lezaeta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donato Nascimento made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. In the 57th minute, Simão Travassos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Simão Travassos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Apolo Larrañaga came out and tried to block the shot, but Simão Travassos slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 59th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Talcampeón FC's zone, Dadá Queirós stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Apolo Larrañaga came out of the goal and Dadá Queirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dadá Queirós in the 70th minute of play forced Talcampeón FC's goalkeeper Apolo Larrañaga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Simão Travassos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Apolo Larrañaga was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-5. 81 minutes into the game, Jenipapo SC's Rômulo Guimarães nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Apolo Larrañaga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-6. Rainerio Huidobro scored 3-6 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Donato Nascimento, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rômulo Guimarães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apolo Larrañaga having to interfere. Donato Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rainerio Huidobro in the 91st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Simão Travassos got free with Apolo Larrañaga in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 95th minute Simão Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Larrañaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luan Vale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Apolo Larrañaga made a huge save.

The Jenipapo SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
