Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Felix Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vinicio Christobal. Los Hornos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Vinicio Christobal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 9th minute of play. Vinicio Christobal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute of play. After having played for 11 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 16 minutes, Daniel Zorita made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Los Hornos's Vinicio Christobal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Vinicio Christobal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the match, Los Hornos's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Vinicio Christobal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 36th minute of play forced Los Hornos's goalkeeper Vinicio Christobal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vinicio Christobal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 40th minute of the match. Primitivo Andino made in the 42nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Cristian Sancho. In the 43rd minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-8 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Epifanio Laurendi was the one to do the kick off. Los Hornos's Vinicio Christobal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 51st minute of play. Felix Montes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Vinicio Christobal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Vinicio Christobal when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Los Hornos's Vinicio Christobal got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 59th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-9. After a defensive mix-up in Los Hornos's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vinicio Christobal came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vinicio Christobal. Vinicio Christobal yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-10. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 70 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-11 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vinicio Christobal was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 77th minute, Luis Andino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vinicio Christobal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-13. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vinicio Christobal. Vinicio Christobal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-14. After 86 played minutes Los Hornos got a freekick which was hit by Cecilio Silvanito. A sloppy throw-in by Wilfredo Innocenzio in the 88th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Ecuador's Felix Montenegro. 89 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-15. Vinicio Christobal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vinicio Christobal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Los Hornos's Vinicio Christobal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Los Hornos from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute, Marciano Tanio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
