The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. A sloppy throw-in by Primitivo Andino in the 10th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Gorgory's Benigno Tono. 18 minutes into the match, Gorgory's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Abel Orlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Gorgory's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Abel Orlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Gorgory was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. A.J. 谢义义 didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Gorgory's Elroy Snijders was substituted for Oscar Arevalo. Gorgory made a substitution. Donatello Caseres replaced Basilio Cordairo. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Abel Orlan made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. After 56 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. 58 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Higinio Valiente came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Abel Orlan in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. Abel Orlan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 63rd minute. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gorgory's goalkeeper Abel Orlan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gorgory's Paulino Araoz was substituted for Higinio Valiente. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elroy Snijders in the 97th minute of play. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gorgory throughout the match.
