Iwan Grocholski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Francisco Alberto Zañartu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gong Peng Bo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

In the 58th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iwan Grocholski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Julian Murillo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Iwan Grocholski. That made the score 0-4 in the 77 minute of play. Rafael Gallo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Iwan Grocholski made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Gallo in the 86th minute of play forced La Academia's goalkeeper Iwan Grocholski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, La Academia's Iwan Grocholski got control of the ball when Rafael Gallo tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a left leg Iwan Grocholski saved La Academia from getting behind. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Peru walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
