An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Prado in the 14th minute of play forced Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Serginho Aguiar received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Camilo Freixa came out and tried to block the shot, but Serginho Aguiar slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 15th minute. Coritiba City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augusto Freire was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Coritiba City fully deserved thier win.
