EL LOBO DE MIAMI's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. A collision led to EL LOBO DE MIAMI getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Garrett McCullough hit a great ball. Osvaldo Daunte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 15 played minutes EL LOBO DE MIAMI's Willy Webster stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Dante Lacasa stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Mexico of the goal. After 45 played minutes, Mexico's Joel Gaona shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Osvaldo Daunte came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Rob Singer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Many of Mexico's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Mexico may have spent more time on the ball, but EL LOBO DE MIAMI were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
