In the 20th minute Staffan Apelqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Gimenez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. André Courtois made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aziz Akarsu in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Sammut in the 39th minute of play forced Deportivo Mukenio's goalkeeper Ismael Gimenez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deportivo Mukenio's Ismael Gimenez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Sammut in the 39th minute of play. Jonathan Sammut struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Ismael Gimenez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Templars FC. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aziz Akarsu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aziz Akarsu in the 57th minute of play forced Templars FC's goalkeeper André Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Deportivo Mukenio booed when Templars FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adelino Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Templars FC's goalkeeper André Courtois had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aziz Akarsu. In the 70th minute Deportivo Mukenio were awarded a corner. Mario Hever went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Ramon Rius got away a dangerous shot. Despite this André Courtois quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 72nd minute, Jonathan Sammut left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Templars FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Ismael Gimenez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Sammut in the 80th minute of the match. Templars FC's Jonathan Sammut got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jonathan Sammut had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Sammut in the 84th minute of play forced Deportivo Mukenio's goalkeeper Ismael Gimenez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Templars FC's Benedict Cumberbatch quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mario Hever, made in the 89th minute of the game. Mario Hever got a throw-in 93 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Ramon Rius. Many of Deportivo Mukenio's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Deportivo Mukenio may have spent more time on the ball, but Templars FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
