With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmondo Colella in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Filiph Hägg saved Aston Villa FC from getting behind. Chico Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herbert Kristiansson in the 26th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Ricardinho Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filiph Hägg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Aston Villa FC's Herbert Kristiansson in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Chico Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Kristiansson in the 44th minute of play. After 45 played minutes Aston Villa FC got a freekick which was hit by Tom Hökkvist. Aston Villa FC's Filiph Hägg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmondo Colella in the 46th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nils-Åke Gunnarsson in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chico Pinho saved Moura from getting behind.

Moura's Geraldo Loyola was substituted for Fausto Albuquerque. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmondo Colella made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Nils-Åke Gunnarsson put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Chico Pinho. If Herbert Kristiansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the match, Aston Villa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardinho Jacinto came free, but Filiph Hägg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tim Lund got free with Chico Pinho in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Thiago de Toledo fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moura's protests and gave Thiago de Toledo a yellow card for diving instead. Nils-Åke Gunnarsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Chico Pinho made a huge save. In the 91st match minute, Aston Villa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tim Lund to maneuver through the defense. Filiph Hägg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Aston Villa FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
