Humberto Hermon started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd match minute, Domínguez AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolo Karlo to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Domínguez AFC defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Omar Conrao. The Domínguez AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Omar Conrao should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Domínguez AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernabe Weterio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Omar Conrao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Humberto Hermon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Hermon, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 17 minutes into the game, Humberto Hermon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omar Conrao having to interfere. Omar Conrao took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fidel Gaitano. Omar Conrao showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of the match. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 36th minute. The corner led to Ecuador's Luis Andino getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 38th minute of play forced Domínguez AFC's goalkeeper Omar Conrao to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Ove Colin, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. With a little luck, Domínguez AFC's Omar Conrao got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a free kick in the 54th minute. Domínguez AFC's Omar Conrao proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Domínguez AFC from getting a goal against them. Omar Conrao was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Omar Conrao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Domínguez AFC's Omar Conrao got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fidel Gaitano in the 79th minute of play. If Humberto Hermon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Omar Conrao made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 88th minute. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
