The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Zakariás Lányi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rogelio Herrasti in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. In the 11thth minute of the game Rogelio Herrasti who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joaquin Gayoso was a little too slow when Rogelio Herrasti got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 1-0. Temelko Kozov kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Fabricio Lawrence made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 18th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Rogelio Herrasti's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. In the 22nd minute, Aimé Burke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisco Seco struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 47th minute of play forced Los Irrompibles's goalkeeper Fabricio Lawrence to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Joaquin Gayoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Los Irrompibles's Rogelio Herrasti managed to work through Uruguay's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Rogelio Herrasti dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Fabricio Lawrence in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 62 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Covarrubias. Rogelio Herrasti took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Zakariás Lányi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. Los Irrompibles made a substitution. Alfonso Nuxila replaced Ariel Baldovino. Los Irrompibles made a substitution. Placido Aguirre replaced Zakariás Lányi. A collision led to Los Irrompibles getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Luka De Roeck hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Rogelio Herrasti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Placido Aguirre in the 84th minute of play. After 87 played minutes Los Irrompibles got a freekick which was hit by Placido Aguirre. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Fabricio Lawrence in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Los Irrompibles had won after a very even match.
