The audience thought a goal was coming when Dennis Bergkamp got free with Noel Seide in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Dennis Bergkamp put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Noel Seide. Vlad Curcã recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dennis Bergkamp in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Noel Seide prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Noel Seide was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Haiti booed when FC Sheriff Tiraspol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petru Blanari didn't get a good kick on the ball. Saint Jean Pierre's late challenge caught a FC Sheriff Tiraspol's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vlad Curcã in the 40th minute of play forced Haiti's goalkeeper Noel Seide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Sheriff Tiraspol's Alexandru Vrânceanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Alphonse in the 44th minute of play. Teodor Coadã kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, FC Sheriff Tiraspol's goal looked a bit too open when Ernso Constant came free, but Alexandru Vrânceanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonathan Alphonse to make the kick off. Gesner Philippe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexandru Vrânceanu having to make a save. The throw-in from Gicu Chetrutã in the 57th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Haiti's Jean Claude Ulysse. Noel Seide made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vlad Curcã in the 62nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the game, FC Sheriff Tiraspol's Dennis Bergkamp nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Noel Seide made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Haiti's Rodney Emmanuel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gicu Chetrutã, made in the 68th minute of the game. In the 73rdth minute of the game Vlad Curcã who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Haiti's Noel Seide was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FC Sheriff Tiraspol's Dennis Bergkamp got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dennis Bergkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 78th minute Dennis Bergkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Seide saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Dennis Bergkamp came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the FC Sheriff Tiraspol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dennis Bergkamp couldn't finish the play. Noel Seide took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennis Bergkamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 90 played minutes FC Sheriff Tiraspol got a freekick which was hit by Petru Blanari. There was no doubt that FC Sheriff Tiraspol were the better team. FC Sheriff Tiraspol's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
