The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ovidio Orkatz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 3rd minute of the match. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 8th minute. Ovidio Orkatz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 9th minute of play. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Black Eagles FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Tayyar Tanzer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Black Eagles FC were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ash Duxbury took the corner. Ovidio Orkatz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tayyar Tanzer in the 21st minute of play. Tayyar Tanzer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ovidio Orkatz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 35th minute of play. The supporters of Mexico booed when Black Eagles FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camillo Campese didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tayyar Tanzer to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Black Eagles FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Svenning Bernov to maneuver through the defense. Ovidio Orkatz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 57th minute. Ovidio Orkatz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 62nd minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidio Orkatz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Ovidio Orkatz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Svenning Bernov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Tafalla in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ovidio Orkatz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Svenning Bernov in the 79th minute of the match. When Svenning Bernov came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Black Eagles FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Svenning Bernov couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Black Eagles FC's Ovidio Orkatz got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 86th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidio Orkatz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Black Eagles FC's goalkeeper Ovidio Orkatz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrian Jaen during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A hard shot by Joel Gaona from long distance, 95 minutes into the match, got Ovidio Orkatz's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
