Jacinto Cuadrado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 12th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Hitzeder Manrique hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerardo Pozo to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arkadiusz Banaszak in the 28th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francisco Carballar kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 35th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Cuadrado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 minutes Chile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hitzeder Manrique who took care of the corner kick. Rainerio Obis was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Rolando Amorebieta kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After 47 minutes Chile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hitzeder Manrique who took care of the corner kick. Hitzeder Manrique made a great header on Boca Juniors's corner, it was just that Chile's Thiago Pliego managed to reach the ball for a save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Lacasa made a kick off. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arkadiusz Banaszak in the 51st minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Orlando Casaus left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chile fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arkadiusz Banaszak, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Jacinto Cuadrado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Casaus in the 74th minute of play. Hitzeder Manrique scored 1-2 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thiago Pliego, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Boca Juniors's Diego Napier was substituted for Gabriel Martinelli. Lazaro Marin kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Chile had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
