Niculae Ungureanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. 20 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andriy Lunin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ödön Szily, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 25 minutes, Rolando Noboa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 29 minutes into the match, Eliseo Mina notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Andriy Lunin. Andriy Lunin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. defense, Julian Murillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andriy Lunin. The SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andriy Lunin should have stopped the shot. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. David Elodio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Milagros Fraga reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Andriy Lunin. The goal made the score 0-5. Andriy Lunin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 58th minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Emmanuel Reyes threw the ball into play from the sideline. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Nemanja Vidić quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Niculae Ungureanu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. David Elodio struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Rolando Noboa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.. Toralf Hell made in the 92nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Gallo in the 96th minute of play forced SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eliseo Mina was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest.
