The Atlético-PR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oswaldo Paraíba should have stopped the shot. Oswaldo Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 10th minute of the match. Oswaldo Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 14 in the game by Pedrinho Hoffmann from a close distance when the talented Dante Lacasa managed to make a qualified save. Mexico's players were relieved. Atlético-PR's Oswaldo Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 16th minute of play. Oswaldo Paraíba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 20th minute of play. Perivaldo Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedrinho Hoffmann who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Dante Lacasa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 38th minute, Facundo Cadaval ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oswaldo Paraíba was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Luca Zorita hit a great ball. Pedrinho Hoffmann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedrinho Hoffmann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hong Jian Fan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Oswaldo Paraíba. Oswaldo Paraíba yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. With a little luck, Atlético-PR's Oswaldo Paraíba got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 65th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Oswaldo Paraíba stood somewhat misplaced when Alberto Tafalla came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 68 minute. In the 72nd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Gaona to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Atlético-PR getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Samuel de Souza hit a great ball. Atlético-PR's Oswaldo Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oswaldo Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Alberto Tafalla kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Oswaldo Paraíba. That made the score 0-5 in the 78 minute of play. Lorenzo Cazalla hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute Dráuzio Barral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Oswaldo Paraíba firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 89th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oswaldo Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hong Jian Fan, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 94th minute Perivaldo Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
