Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cedrick Francoeur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 26 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arlindo Tinoco. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Han Wei Yuan made a kick off. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, FC Catalonia's Cedrick Francoeur got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Han Wei Yuan in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cezary Czeszyk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Cedrick Francoeur was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 59th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 65 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelo Jenaro in the 75th minute of play. Cedrick Francoeur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 78th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arlindo Tinoco in the 79th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a free kick in the 80th minute. FC Catalonia made a substitution. Czeslaw Piczak replaced Cezary Czeszyk. Cedrick Francoeur made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, FC Catalonia's Cedrick Francoeur got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Catalonia throughout the match.
