The audience was convinced that Jörgen Bjurström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacobo Nores was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Jaime Pardo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 18th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jaime Pardo took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ove Hake. Ove Hake dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Nils Liedholm IF's Birger Kleen got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nils Liedholm IF's Jörgen Bjurström got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nils Liedholm IF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marc Juhlin in the 31st minute. When Jörgen Bjurström fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nils Liedholm IF's protests and gave Jörgen Bjurström a yellow card for diving instead. After 32 played minutes Nils Liedholm IF got a freekick which was hit by Jörgen Bjurström. 37 minutes into the match, Nils Liedholm IF's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pardo came free, but Ove Hake reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ove Hake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kalle Norström made in the 42nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Paraguay's Primitivo Escribano. Birger Kleen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jörgen Bjurström to strike the kick off in the second half. Xavier Zoido hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Paraguay's Iker Tafalla managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Kalle Norström in the 65 minute of the game. In the 67th minute, Birger Kleen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nils Liedholm IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Paraguay's attentive Ivan Prats managed to snatch the ball when Kalle Norström made a throw-in in the 71st minute of the game. Xavier Zoido charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xavier Zoido the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Nils Liedholm IF booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Zoido didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacobo Nores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marc Juhlin in the 75th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Birger Kleen in the 78th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kalle Norström got a throw-in 85 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Jörgen Bjurström. When Jörgen Bjurström came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Nils Liedholm IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jörgen Bjurström couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice moves Jaime Pardo could shoot a difficult shot in the 89th minute, which Ove Hake however easily saved by the left post. Nils Liedholm IF succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Paraguay had controlled the match.
