In the 3rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beltza Morell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 9th minute of play forced ATLETICO HUILA F.C's goalkeeper Beltza Morell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beltza Morell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ATLETICO HUILA F.C's Beltza Morell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute of play. Beltza Morell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luis Andino scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Beltza Morell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 32nd minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Beltza Morell was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Bonifaco Sovera managed to get in a good position for a shot. ATLETICO HUILA F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Bonifaco Sovera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Beltza Morell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 41st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in ATLETICO HUILA F.C's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beltza Morell came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bonifaco Sovera was the one to do the kick off. Ortzi Gustros kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita didn't quite understand what happened when in the 57 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Cristian Sanchos short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Beltza Morell to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kusko Borica kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Beltza Morell in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 64 minutes ATLETICO HUILA F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montes to fire away a dangerous shot which Beltza Morell despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Beltza Morell threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Beltza Morell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 66th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Cristian Sancho took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Beltza Morell to make any attempt to save it. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 83 minutes into the game, Felix Montenegro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Beltza Morell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Txeru Errasti hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Beltza Morell could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, ATLETICO HUILA F.C's Ortzi Gustros got a free kick in the 91st minute. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than ATLETICO HUILA F.C.
