Orlando Lluques was slow to take the kick. During this time Boca Juniors's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Orlando Lluques got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pedro Manzanares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Samuel Navarro hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pepito Santalla in the 11th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Bartolo Nuno made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ladislao Bertran, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 26 minutes into the game, Colombia's Abram Sarmiento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Primitivo Fernanco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 29 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Pepito Santalla came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ladislao Bertran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 34th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Primitivo Fernanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Primitivo Fernanco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 47th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Primitivo Fernanco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Abram Sarmiento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colombia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Boca Juniors's Primitivo Fernanco got control of the ball when Axel Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 57th minute Ladislao Bertran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th minute, Axel Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Axel Montenegro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Primitivo Fernanco skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 69 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Bertran came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Axel Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Primitivo Fernanco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. Boca Juniors made a substitution. Maximo Bordat replaced Bartolo Nuno. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Primitivo Fernanco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abram Secada in the 78th minute. Abram Secada's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Primitivo Fernanco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Primitivo Fernanco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santino Seco in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute Santino Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Primitivo Fernanco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Luis Cazalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 87th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Primitivo Fernanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Isidoro Sotil in the 89th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. Abram Secada might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Primitivo Fernanco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abram Secada ran back to his position shaking his head. Boca Juniors's Primitivo Fernanco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Boca Juniors from getting a goal against them. If Kevin Mastache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
