Genílson Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Simão in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Sipo EC's goal looked a bit too open when Bo Edström came free, but Genílson Gaspar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 20 minutes, Décio Messias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sipo EC and the Grentino FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th match minute, Sipo EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Décio Messias to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, Oscar Luz notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio. Falcão Sampaio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joaquin Xacintu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Genílson Gaspar came out and tried to block the shot, but Joaquin Xacintu slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Luz in the 35th minute of play forced Grentino FC's goalkeeper Falcão Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oscar Luz scored 3-3 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Falcão Sampaio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Amadeu de Alcântara's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Genílson Gaspar firmly grabbed it by the left post. Grentino FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bo Edström in the 59th minute. After a rather tough play, Sipo EC's Oscar Luz got a free kick in the 60th minute. Sipo EC's Genílson Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualter Sampaio in the 67th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Luz got free with Falcão Sampaio in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Genílson Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquin Xacintu in the 73rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erasmo Simão in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Genílson Gaspar saved Sipo EC from getting behind. Fedor Delafosse hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. The supporters of Sipo EC booed when Grentino FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válter Baiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Sipo EC defense, Erasmo Simão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Genílson Gaspar. The Sipo EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Genílson Gaspar should have stopped the shot. In the 87th match minute, Sipo EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Luz to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice moves Oscar Luz could shoot a difficult shot in the 90th minute, which Falcão Sampaio however easily saved by the left post. Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Grentino FC from getting a goal against them. Falcão Sampaio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Décio Messias in the 96th minute of play.
