Erasmo Simão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ergo Muro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Grentino FC were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after Caatiba MZC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bo Edström took the corner. Falcão Sampaio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niceto Ihazintu in the 12th minute of the match. Falcão Sampaio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niceto Ihazintu, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 16 minutes into the game, Fedor Delafosse was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grentino FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caatiba MZC the free kick. After 16 played minutes Grentino FC got a freekick which was hit by Fedor Delafosse. In the 17th minute Niceto Ihazintu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Falcão Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caatiba MZC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jorge Henrique in the 18th minute. A nice corner shot did that Natã Siqueira got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Falcão Sampaio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 19th minute Niceto Ihazintu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Falcão Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niceto Ihazintu in the 21st minute of play. Caatiba MZC were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Grentino FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jorge Henrique took the corner. Erasmo Simão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Ergo Muro made a huge save. With a little luck, Caatiba MZC's Ergo Muro got control of the ball when Gualter Sampaio tried to sneak it across the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Caatiba MZC's goalkeeper Ergo Muro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joaquin Xacintu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niceto Ihazintu in the 47th minute of play forced Grentino FC's goalkeeper Falcão Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Falcão Sampaio made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Niceto Ihazintu sent off a good shot on target. When Caatiba MZC's Niceto Ihazintu in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grentino FC's goalie prevented a goal. Erasmo Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ergo Muro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ergo Muro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquin Xacintu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Grentino FC's goalkeeper Falcão Sampaio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorge Henrique. After a rather tough play, Caatiba MZC's Delfim Bertassi got a free kick in the 70th minute. Ergo Muro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erasmo Simão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Niceto Ihazintu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Falcão Sampaio made a huge save. 86 minutes into the match, Gualter Sampaio notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Caatiba MZC's Ergo Muro. Ergo Muro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 94 minutes into the match, Caatiba MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Gualter Sampaio came free, but Ergo Muro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute, Fahl Figueroa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquin Xacintu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Caatiba MZC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Grentino FC.
