Baturhan Oytun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Matei Răducu made a huge save. 9 minutes into the game, Demis Katsarolidis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Matei Răducu. Demis Katsarolidis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. MarquinhosEC's Matei Răducu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guga Trancoso in the 14th minute of play. With a little luck, MarquinhosEC's Matei Răducu got control of the ball when Guga Trancoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to MarquinhosEC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Gabriel Martini hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guga Trancoso got free with Matei Răducu in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, MarquinhosEC's Matei Răducu got control of the ball when Guga Trancoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Matei Răducu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guga Trancoso in the 28th minute of play. A collision led to MarquinhosEC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Curt Montes hit a great ball. Iurie Chiriacescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessandro do Valle in the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro do Valle in the 38th minute of play forced PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Iurie Chiriacescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquim Ubiña charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquim Ubiña the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 44 played minutes PIAUÍ FC got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Ubiña. If Alessandro do Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 46 played minutes PIAUÍ FC got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Batista. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guga Trancoso to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, MarquinhosEC's goal looked a bit too open when Guga Trancoso came free, but Matei Răducu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iurie Chiriacescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Esteve Quinto in the 52nd minute. Matei Răducu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guga Trancoso in the 54th minute of play. MarquinhosEC's Matei Răducu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Demis Katsarolidis in the 56th minute of play. Demis Katsarolidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guga Trancoso took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Matei Răducu. Matei Răducu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. MarquinhosEC made a substitution. Inácio Freitas replaced Alessandro do Valle. 65 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Iurie Chiriacescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Inácio Freitas. Inácio Freitas might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iurie Chiriacescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Inácio Freitas ran back to his position shaking his head. 67 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Freitas came free, but Iurie Chiriacescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute Guga Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matei Răducu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Víktor Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 77th match minute, PIAUÍ FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baturhan Oytun to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of MarquinhosEC booed when PIAUÍ FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baturhan Oytun didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Freitas came free, but Iurie Chiriacescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute MarquinhosEC were awarded a corner. Gabriel Martini went to the cornerflag to take it. PIAUÍ FC's Vladimir de Sena was substituted for Demis Katsarolidis. After 87 played minutes MarquinhosEC got a freekick which was hit by Vágner Porto. Iurie Chiriacescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inácio Freitas in the 92nd minute of play.
