In the 14th minute Eleuterio Huercanos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uruguay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Eleuterio Huercanos scored to the left of an out of position Joaquin Gayoso, making the score, 1-1. 22 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Eleuterio Huercanos came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 24 played minutes C.D Escuela Mayor got a freekick which was hit by Seguinus Alguea. Valentino Ospina scored 2-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, C.D Escuela Mayor's Bartuelo Villafranca got a free kick in the 36th minute. After 38 played minutes C.D Escuela Mayor got a freekick which was hit by Bartuelo Villafranca. After 47 minutes, Jaime Cazalla mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uruguay and the C.D Escuela Mayor players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of C.D Escuela Mayor booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eleuterio Huercanos was the one to do the kick off. Eleuterio Huercanos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Dantel Quindos in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, C.D Escuela Mayor's Eleuterio Huercanos got a free kick in the 58th minute. If Maximiliano Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 63 minutes, Maximiliano Escribano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uruguay and the C.D Escuela Mayor players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Maximiliano Escribano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisco Seco struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Dantel Quindos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. C.D Escuela Mayor's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Francisco Seco 75 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-3. After 78 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Seco. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dantel Quindos having to interfere. Francisco Seco was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 86th minute. Uruguay's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After having played for 91 minutes, Maximiliano Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximiliano Escribano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Uruguay supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Uruguay would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
