After 17 played minutes ERGOTELIS got a freekick which was hit by Evelio Gregory. 19 minutes into the game, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stamatis Ifantis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 23 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stamatis Ifantis was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 32 minutes, Facundo Cadaval managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Facundo Cadaval was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stamatis Ifantis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by ERGOTELIS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Stamatis Ifantis despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience was convinced that Lautaro Mancebo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stamatis Ifantis was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. In the 36th minute, Alberto Tafalla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stamatis Ifantis was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in ERGOTELIS's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stamatis Ifantis came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ERGOTELIS's Lazaros Routsis was substituted for Panagiotis Agapakis. The ERGOTELIS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 0-3.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Stamatis Ifantis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 55th minute. After 56 minutes ERGOTELIS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Mexico's Joel Gaona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Stamatis Ifantis in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Stamatis Ifantis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 任树振 in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stamatis Ifantis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, ERGOTELIS's goalkeeper Stamatis Ifantis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. Stamatis Ifantis stood somewhat misplaced when Lautaro Mancebo came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 70 minute. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Stamatis Ifantis came out and tried to block the shot, but Alberto Tafalla slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 74th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Stamatis Ifantis. That made the score 0-6 after 78 minutes of play. In the 84th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Macos Graciani to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute 任树振 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by 任树振 in the 88th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
