The supporters of El Salvador booed when Antonio 1961 FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barto Torrent didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Abram Luque managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but Abram Luque was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filiberto Quintas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Moises Fernandino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filiberto Quintas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. After some careless play in the Antonio 1961 FC defense, Moises Fernandino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Filiberto Quintas. The Antonio 1961 FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filiberto Quintas should have stopped the shot. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Moises Fernandino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute, Abram Luque got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Moises Fernandino notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Antonio 1961 FC's Filiberto Quintas. Filiberto Quintas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

With a little luck, Antonio 1961 FC's Filiberto Quintas got control of the ball when Moises Fernandino tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 61st minute Xaiver Balboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Although Antonio 1961 FC had been in control for most of the match, El Salvador still came away with the win.
