Amador Jakue showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. If Maximiliano Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Maximiliano Escribano came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximiliano Escribano couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso got control of the ball when Erasmo Turi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alberto Gisbert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amador Jakue having to interfere. After 47 played minutes Wallace FC got a freekick which was hit by Blas Giunta. Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

A collision led to Wallace FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Benicio Turi hit a great ball. Maximiliano Escribano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Amador Jakue made a huge save. In the 79th match minute, Wallace FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Turi to maneuver through the defense. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Amador Jakue tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Liberto in the 94th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
