With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edwin Hasselqvist in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Jüri Ratas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Benbrott BK's goalkeeper Jüri Ratas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Benbrott BK had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
