Monteagudo's Feliberto Refugio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aimar Aimar in the 3rd minute of play. After 8 played minutes Monteagudo got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Cordarin. Feliberto Refugio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aimar Aimar's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Feliberto Refugio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aimar Aimar in the 15th minute of the match. Aimar Aimar might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Feliberto Refugio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aimar Aimar ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Aimar Aimar sped through Monteagudo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Feliberto Refugio. In the 27th minute of the game Cristobal Brion made a throw-in which Amador Soin played forward. The supporters of Ique Football Club booed when Monteagudo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinicio Muno didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Monteagudo's zone, Ricardo Travassos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Feliberto Refugio came out of the goal and Ricardo Travassos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Feliberto Refugio didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Ique Football Club's Aimar Aimar shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-5 in the ordered_time% minute. After a defensive mix-up in Monteagudo's zone, Moisés Arruda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Feliberto Refugio came out of the goal and Moisés Arruda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristobal Brion hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After 47 minutes of play, Ique Football Club's Aimar Aimar made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Feliberto Refugio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marciano Cordarell made a kick off. In the 59th minute Moisés Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Feliberto Refugio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Aimar Aimar could shoot a difficult shot in the 60th minute, which Feliberto Refugio however easily saved by the left post. 63 minutes into the match, Aimar Aimar dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Feliberto Refugio, 0-8. After some careless play in the Monteagudo defense, Moisés Arruda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Feliberto Refugio. The Monteagudo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Feliberto Refugio should have stopped the shot. Moisés Arruda spun around in front of the goal 80 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Monteagudo's goal. In the 83rd minute Moisés Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Feliberto Refugio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aimar Aimar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aimar Aimar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aimar Aimar in the 86th minute of play forced Monteagudo's goalkeeper Feliberto Refugio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Ique Football Club players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
