The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Efrain Vitin made in the 2nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s Tobias Xacintu. In the 10th minute Doug Bermudez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliverio Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Los Diablos Rojos's Rogelio Barbosa got control of the ball when Saturnino Romo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s zone, Maximo Cloyo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oliverio Kahn came out of the goal and Maximo Cloyo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saturnino Romo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogelio Barbosa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Mats Liljeström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s Saturnino Romo in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Los Diablos Rojos's goalie prevented a goal. In the 25th match minute, Los Diablos Rojos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Vitin to maneuver through the defense. If Saturnino Romo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saturnino Romo in the 33rd minute of play forced Los Diablos Rojos's goalkeeper Rogelio Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saturnino Romo might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rogelio Barbosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Saturnino Romo ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saturnino Romo in the 37th minute of play forced Los Diablos Rojos's goalkeeper Rogelio Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the game, ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s Saturnino Romo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rogelio Barbosa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 41 minutes into the match, ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s goal looked a bit too open when Doug Bermudez came free, but Oliverio Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 45th minute of the game was made by Efrain Vitin with Maximo Cloyo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 47th minute Saturnino Romo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The wind increased when Doug Bermudez made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Saturnino Romo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rogelio Barbosa was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Saturnino Romo might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rogelio Barbosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Saturnino Romo ran back to his position shaking his head. Rogelio Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saturnino Romo in the 57th minute of play. Saturnino Romo took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rogelio Barbosa. Rogelio Barbosa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Efrain Vitin charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Efrain Vitin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Efrain Vitin hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆ made a substitution. Jerzy Marchefka replaced Saturnino Romo. After a rather tough play, Los Diablos Rojos's Efrain Vitin got a free kick in the 64th minute. Rogelio Barbosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerzy Marchefka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogelio Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerzy Marchefka in the 66th minute of the match. Rogelio Barbosa came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s Jerzy Marchefka. But to his dismay, Jerzy Marchefka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. If Jerzy Marchefka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerzy Marchefka in the 74th minute of play forced Los Diablos Rojos's goalkeeper Rogelio Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rogelio Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerzy Marchefka in the 75th minute of the match. When ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s Jerzy Marchefka in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Oliverio Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximo Cloyo, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 79 minutes into the game, ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s Jerzy Marchefka nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rogelio Barbosa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Rogelio Barbosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jerzy Marchefka went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. Ezequiel Lavezzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogelio Barbosa having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Jerzy Marchefka left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
