Waitakere F.C.'s Marcos Burni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Waitakere F.C. from getting a goal against them. Marcos Burni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Saturnino Romo's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆ were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after Waitakere F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. After taking down the ball on ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s corner Tobias Xacintu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marcos Burni quite easily take care of the ball. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s goalkeeper Oliverio Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 39 minutes in the game Marcos Senesi did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Piara Santo. Oliverio Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Piara Santo in the 45th minute of play. Dedê Donatello kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Piara Santo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliverio Kahn having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Piara Santo was the one to do the kick off. Piara Santo might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oliverio Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Piara Santo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 54th minute Piara Santo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliverio Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tobias Xacintu hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. If Piara Santo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 59th minute of the match, Piara Santo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Oliverio Kahn saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Marcos Burni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saturnino Romo in the 62nd minute of the match.
