Gilberto Loreto made in the 4th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Waitakere F.C.'s Jairo Virila. An unexpectedly hard shot by Piara Santo in the 8th minute of play forced ★Independiente Ψ★'s goalkeeper Maximiliano Iigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes in the game Adan Aresti did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Alfonso Musso. ★Independiente Ψ★'s attentive Gilberto Loreto managed to snatch the ball when Jairo Virila made a throw-in in the 17th minute of the game. Waitakere F.C.'s Marcos Burni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel-Omar Batista in the 18th minute of play. Maximiliano Iigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Piara Santo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Piara Santo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Maximiliano Iigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piara Santo, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Marcos Senesi hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Piara Santo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maximiliano Iigo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. When Piara Santo came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Waitakere F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Piara Santo couldn't finish the play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Piara Santo made a kick off. Piara Santo had several of the ★Independiente Ψ★'s defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 54 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-1 score and a disappointed Maximiliano Iigo as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabriel-Omar Batista in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Burni saved Waitakere F.C. from getting behind. Waitakere F.C.'s Gabriel Batistuta was substituted for Piara Santo. ★Independiente Ψ★ made a substitution. Lei Feng Ying replaced Gabriel-Omar Batista. Waitakere F.C. made a substitution. Nacho Scocco replaced Delmiro Oto. Maximiliano Iigo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gabriel Batistuta. In the 81st minute, Gabriel Batistuta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maximiliano Iigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nacho Scocco in the 82nd minute of play. ★Independiente Ψ★'s Maximiliano Iigo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save ★Independiente Ψ★ from getting a goal against them. 88 minutes into the match, Waitakere F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Lei Feng Ying came free, but Marcos Burni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Burni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lei Feng Ying in the 92nd minute of play. Maximiliano Iigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Batistuta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ★Independiente Ψ★'s Maximiliano Iigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Batistuta in the 95th minute of play. The Waitakere F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Waitakere F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
