El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Gorunescu in the 5th minute of play. In the 6th minute Sentot Likumahua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of El Salvador booed when -BZF- Chimia Buzau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sentot Likumahua didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute, Moises Fernandino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marian Gorunescu succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 20th playminute. With an all-out effort, -BZF- Chimia Buzau's Ricardo Zorita threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marian Gorunescu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Marian Gorunescu took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Jorge Magrina made in the 33rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Abram Luque immediately put the ball in play. 36 minutes into the game, -BZF- Chimia Buzau's Marian Gorunescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 42ndth minute of the game Marian Gorunescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Moises Fernandino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Trpimir Čaplar was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Moises Fernandino made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marian Gorunescu in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Zorita saved El Salvador from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Horia Pavel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Horia Pavel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Marian Gorunescu came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute of the match -BZF- Chimia Buzau got a corner. El Salvador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leontin Avram ran over to the corner to take the kick. Marian Gorunescu's late challenge caught a El Salvador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marian Gorunescu helped the player get up and apologised. Marian Gorunescu kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 69th minute of the match, Moises Fernandino got a very nice opportunity to score, but Trpimir Čaplar was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marian Gorunescu in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Zorita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. El Salvador's attentive Valentino Ferrant managed to snatch the ball when Dorel Dumitrana made a throw-in in the 73rd minute of the game. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marian Gorunescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jesus Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Marian Gorunescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Zorita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. 81 minutes in the game Daniel Feroiu did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Sentot Likumahua. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marian Gorunescu in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Zorita saved El Salvador from getting behind. Ricardo Zorita didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when -BZF- Chimia Buzau's Marian Gorunescu shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 4-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Horia Pavel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. After 93 minutes, Leontin Avram mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the -BZF- Chimia Buzau and the El Salvador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Chimia Buzau's Leontin Avram got a free kick in the 94th minute. -BZF- Chimia Buzau's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
