Theagenis Giannou breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nikos Stavrou took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Nikos Stavrou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 43rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lipochσrion FC's players were relieved. 89 minutes into the game, Alex Chicote threw the ball into play from the sideline. Lipochσrion FC's Fanis Peros quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 90th minute Nikos Stavrou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Lipochσrion FC.
