Troy Kennedy kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Bertie Johnson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruno Barrett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vágner Meirelles in the 15th minute of play. Geraldo Tepedino might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bruno Barrett. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geraldo Tepedino ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 22nd minute Stanley Wallace shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Augusto Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isaltino Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Bruno Barrett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Futebol Clube Cascavel's Geraldo Tepedino got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 34th minute, Frédson Falcão reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bruno Barrett. The goal made the score 1-0. Curacao's Bruno Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo Tepedino in the 39th minute of play. Bruno Barrett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vágner Meirelles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frédson Falcão struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Bruno Barrett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Futebol Clube Cascavel.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vágner Meirelles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Curacao's goal looked a bit too open when Vágner Meirelles came free, but Bruno Barrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Curacao booed when Futebol Clube Cascavel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vágner Meirelles didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Faustão Moura fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Futebol Clube Cascavel's protests and gave Faustão Moura a yellow card for diving instead. Faustão Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After 58 played minutes Futebol Clube Cascavel got a freekick which was hit by Frederico Vides. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Stanley Wallace managed to get in a good position for a shot. Curacao's supporters rose to their feet, but Stanley Wallace was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Augusto Pinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonas Siqueira kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Kyle Davies hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geraldo Tepedino took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruno Barrett. Bruno Barrett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0.
