Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Francisco Seco started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Thor Ståhlberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bergandy's supporters rose to their feet, but Thor Ståhlberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 7 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Eduardo Xavier. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bergandy's goalkeeper Franco Di Massa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Eduardo Xavier in the 17th minute of play. In the 21st minute Uruguay were awarded a corner. Jaime Cazalla went to the cornerflag to take it. Jaime Cazalla made a great header on Uruguay's corner, it was just that Bergandy's Franco Di Massa managed to reach the ball for a save. After 23 minutes, Luiz Eduardo Xavier made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Per-Olof Forsberg, made in the 28th minute of the game. Uruguay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 41st minute, when Luiz Eduardo Xavier scored to the left of an out of position Joaquin Gayoso, making the score, 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thor Ståhlberg was the one to do the kick off. When Thor Ståhlberg came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Bergandy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thor Ståhlberg couldn't finish the play. 3-0 became the score in the 52nd minute when Luiz Eduardo Xavier elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Thor Ståhlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 61st match minute, Bergandy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jack Eklund to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Bergandy getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Jack Eklund hit a great ball. In the 68thth minute of the game Ingvar Molander who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 71st match minute, Bergandy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jörgen Valrot to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute, Sven Granberg sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move. Franco Di Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Gisbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Bergandy getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Jörgen Valrot hit a great ball. Francisco Seco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Franco Di Massa came out and tried to block the shot, but Francisco Seco slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 78th minute. Daniel Koch's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Koch in the 86th minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingvar Molander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bergandy were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Uruguay for a fine match.
